B P Chronicle is a website full of free tools to help people control and maintain not just Blood Pressure but other healthy lifestyle choices. By empowering them with the insight of past performance. Which in turn becomes knowledge for the future. My name is Brian McShane, I have high blood pressure. That sounded a bit like an AA introdution. I could make some paridies. When I first learned I had high blood pressure I was unsure of what to do. My doctor wanted to put me on medication, but I have so many friends on BP medication and all they do is complain about the way it makes them feel. I am also in no hurry to line the pockets of a big drug company with my hard earned money. So like any fairly computer savey guy I consulted a higher power than us. Yes Google. I scoured the web looking for information to help with my plight. There an overwhelming amount of information out there and it was hard to know what was good and what was bad. Until I ran across a page by the American Heart Association, Their page had one simple message ("For Healthy Living Know Your Numbers"). This little saying struct a chord with me. I thought when people are trying to lose weight what do they do. Well most of hop on the scale to see how much we weigh, and then whatch our diet every day and continue to weigh ourselves until we can see a change. Most people know how much they weigh, but hardly anyone knows what their blood pressure numbers are. So I said OK this is step number one. I bought a blood pressure cuff and learned to use it. But I needed an easy way to keep track of my readings. I needed to know weekly and monthly averages at a glance. This is when I set out to create Blood Pressure Log. After months of design and programming Blood Pressure Log was reality. At first it was just me logging my readings and checking my pressure. Then I thought others could benefit from this as well. So I opened the website up to the public and know we have over 200 members and counting. All the tools are free and will remain so. If you have an idea or a need for a special tool drop us a line and we will do our best to create it for you. Examples of pages that were created at the request of our members are The history chart page, The history log page and the bmi calculator. We put many hours into creating this site are are continuosly updating it.
